ELLIE'S STORY

MY STORY

It has always been my belief that the sky is not the limit but merely Plan B. This belief gave me the strength to pull myself out of the trenches and rise from some of the lowest points in my life. It fueled my drive to break free from poverty, to create a new path, and ultimately, to transform my life.

I was the eldest of four kids in a family of six. We were poor, so poor that we often couldn’t afford basic necessities like bread. At the age of nine, I started cleaning synagogues to help support my family. As I grew older, I realized the gravity of our circumstances and developed a burning desire to break the cycle of poverty.

My early marriage at 19 was an attempt to escape my circumstances and create a better future, but it wasn’t the answer I hoped for. I worked three jobs to support us while my husband struggled to maintain steady work. I dreamed of a better life and was determined to make it happen.

That determination drove me to pursue my dream of becoming a lawyer. After years of relentless hard work, I graduated with honors from an accelerated law program, holding both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Law. I joined a prestigious law firm in Israel, where I worked on high-profile real estate transactions. But even then, my heart longed to be on the other side of the table — as a real estate investor.

A health crisis ultimately gave me the clarity I needed to change my life. A disease that temporarily left me nearly blind forced me to see my life for what it was: a high-paying job and an unhappy existence. I made the painful but necessary decisions to leave my marriage and my job.

I took a leap of faith and started over, managing properties and overseeing more than 300 units within a few years. It was a step closer to my goal of becoming a real estate investor. That goal became clearer when I attended MIT, where I earned my MBA and learned how to build and scale businesses.

After MIT, I founded Blue Lake Capital, combining my passion for real estate with my experience in law, property management, and business. That passion became a driving force in my life, propelling me forward to conquer new goals and scale greater heights in real estate investing.

THE NEXT CHAPTER

Today, my life has taken on a new and even more meaningful dimension. Becoming a mother to my daughter has been even more impactful than I'd imagined, and it has steeled my fire and drive even more. It’s a feeling that’s difficult to put into words - a sense of purpose that goes beyond my own ambitions. From the moment I first held her in my arms, I knew that everything I had built, everything I had worked for, was about more than just me. It was about creating something truly lasting, something that would stand the test of time and serve as a foundation and fortress for our family and her future.

My mission has always been to build something greater than myself that includes creating opportunities, inspiring others to dream bigger, and to show that with hard work, resilience, and vision, anything is possible. But now, that mission has become even more personal. When I look at my daughter, I see endless potential. I see the next generation, and I feel a profound responsibility to ensure that the work I do today will make her future, and the families we partner with, even brighter.

Blue Lake has grown far from when I first started this journey. It has been incredibly rewarding to watch our investments and partnerships flourish, to see families and investors benefit from the opportunities we’ve created together, and to work creatively on the challenges along the way to keep us all protected. But as proud as I am of what we’ve accomplished, I know that we are just getting started.

This next chapter of my life is about expansion, innovation, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. It’s about leading with even greater clarity and conviction, knowing that everything I do is shaping a future that extends beyond my own lifetime. It’s about showing my daughter, and generations to come, that dreams are worth chasing, that resilience is the key to success, and that when you build with intention, the legacy you leave is more than just financial.

For me, this is not the end of a journey, but the beginning of something even greater. The best is yet to come.
