THE TEAM

The founder of Blue Lake Capital Group, Ellie Perlman, has eighteen years of experience in real estate investment, law, and property management. Ellie leads Blue Lake Capital, which has owned and managed over 3,900 multifamily units across the U.S.

Ellie started her career in Israel as a commercial real estate lawyer, leading real estate transactions for Israel's largest development company. Later, as a property manager for one of Israel's most prominent oil and gas companies, she oversaw an extensive portfolio of properties.

Ellie holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management Bachelor's and a Master's in Law from Bar-Ilan University in Israel, as well as a bachelor’s degree in law. In addition, Ellie is a long-term Forbes author on real estate investing.

Jag is the Chief Financial Officer at Blue Lake Capital, overseeing financial strategy, treasury, debt financing, tax structuring, and financial reporting. He brings 25 years of experience in finance and real estate, covering sectors such as multifamily, office, industrial, self-storage, hospitality, and data centers.

Previously, Jag served as the Chief Financial Officer for Manulife US REIT, listed on the Singapore Exchange mainboard. He also held the position of Head of Finance for Manulife/John Hancock Private Asset Management, managing Canadian and U.S. real estate funds, as well as mortgage and private debt funds. Additionally, Jag has held senior finance roles at the Royal Bank of Canada.

Jag is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA Canada) and Chartered Accountant, having begun his career at Ernst & Young. He also holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business and Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.

Jeannette is responsible for facilitating the company’s strategy, growth opportunities, and business initiatives with Blue Lake Capital’s investor community. She manages consistent communications and provides support and oversight with all investor relations. Prior to joining Blue Lake, Jeannette worked as an executive headhunter and then moved on to Chief Relationship Officer for a technology-based company focused on providing support to the veteran community.

 

Jeannette has more than 20 years’ experience in volunteering and working with non-profits, where she specialized in donor relations. She has received numerous awards and honors for leadership, most recently named “Woman of the Year” by Operation Supply Drop for her work and service to the veteran community. Jeannette received her BAAS from Howard Payne University and spends her free time serving as a passionate advocate for children with disabilities.

Mark is an experienced multifamily finance professional with fifteen years of experience serving the real estate finance, acquisition, and development industry.  Mark joined Blue Lake Capital in 2020 and oversees the acquisition process for Blue Lake.  Over the past ten years, Mark has underwritten and closed over $2.0 Billion in multifamily real estate transactions, while underwriting over $1Billion of multifamily annually.  Mark has experience in a vast array of financial and partnership structures including mezzanine financing, tax credit financing, and ground lease structures.

 

Prior to joining Blue Lake Capital, Mark has most recently served as Vice President of Finance for a national apartment owner operator with 56,000 units under management.  Mark’s prior acquisitions roles include publicly traded companies and privately held owner operators with portfolios of $1-2 Billion.​

Tim serves as Director of Acquisitions for Blue Lake, where he is responsible for all aspects of the acquisition cycle from sourcing investment opportunities to closing transactions. Tim brings fifteen years of real estate acquisition and transactions experience to the team with over $2.0 billion in closed deals across major property types.

 

Prior to joining Blue Lake, he held positions as Head of Acquisitions for Gemdale USA, where he was part of establishing the company's first institutional fund. Prior to Gemdale, Tim worked as Director of Acquisitions at Atlas Capital Group, where he opened the Los Angeles office and contributed to the transformation of ROW DTLA in the LA's Arts District and St. John's Terminal (Google's HQ in New York).

 

Tim holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Walter A. Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and a Masters’ degree in Real Estate Development from Columbia University.

Todd brings over three decades of expertise in commercial real estate acquisition, finance and management to Blue Lake Capital. Todd’s 35-years of experience in commercial real estate investment brings with it relationships and credibility which helps provide introductions to diverse capital resources, assisting the team in seizing opportunities focused on maximizing returns while minimizing risks in any investment climate.

Todd has a Bachelor of Business Degree from the University of Miami, an MBA from Columbia University and sits on the National Board of Directors of Nurse Family Partnership where he also serves as the Chairman of the Finance Committee.

Uziel enhances the Blue Lake Capital's team by gathering and analyzing financial and operational data to further improve the acquisition process through data interpretation, identification of trends, and overall operational efficiencies. His insights and continual monitoring help ensure an additional layer of quality control remains intact for all Blue Lake Capital transactions. 

 

Uziel's background includes a blend of both technical and operational leadership. He formerly served in the Israeli Air Force and is currently pursuing his BA in Social Sciences Management.​

Syed Arham Mahmood plays a pivotal role in supporting investor relations at Blue Lake Capital. As an Investor Relations Associate, he aids in supporting consistent communication with the investor community and assists in various research initiatives. Previously, Syed gained valuable experience as an Analyst at Crowninshield Financial Research and further honed his skills during internships, including a notable stint as a Summer Hedge Fund Analyst at Yunity Alpha - DeFi Hedge Fund.

Holding an undergraduate degree in economics from the Institute of Business Administration, Syed has a keen interest in topics such as inflation hedge, microfinance, and international trade. He also holds a Master of Science in Finance from Babson College.

 

Outside of his professional endeavors, Syed is enthusiastic about financial education and often participates in related seminars and workshops.

Daniel is an Asset Management Associate at Blue Lake Capital. Previously, he was an Asset Manager at Pegasus Asset Management, where he oversaw daily operations, vendor and tenant relations, and portfolio management for a $2.5 Billion retail portfolio. Before Pegasus Asset Management, he was a Facilities Coordinator for JLL managing the Google campus in Playa Vista, CA.

Daniel earned his B.S. in Urban & Regional Development with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Arizona in 2019.

Emma Walker is a dynamic and innovative marketing professional currently excelling as a Marketing Associate at Blue Lake Capital. With a strong educational background from Carroll College, Emma has honed her skills in marketing and communications, making her an invaluable asset to the Blue Lake Capital team.

Emma's journey in marketing began during her tenure at Carroll College, where she not only pursued her academic goals but also engaged in various extracurricular activities that shaped her leadership and organizational skills. Her role at Blue Lake Capital involves developing and implementing effective marketing strategies, a task she approaches with creativity and a keen understanding of market trends.

Thal, an Execute Administrative Assistant at Blue Lake Capital, holds a BA in Economics from UCLA, providing her with a solid foundation in economic principles. She initially worked remotely as an admin assistant/financial manager for a San Francisco-based company, gradually transitioning to a full-time role due to her exceptional performance. Thal's passion for real estate was ignited during a temporary administrative position at a real estate development company, leading her to her current role at Blue Lake Capital.

In her capacity at Blue Lake Capital, Thal leverages her diverse skill set, combining administrative expertise with financial acumen to contribute to the company's success. Her journey exemplifies adaptability, versatility, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, underscoring her value as a vital member of the team.
